I am at my first semester of college right now, and it is everything I thought it would be! My roommate is cool, campus is gorgeous, and Saturday football games are unbelievable! There are many more things to list, but the hands down best part about college so far is not having my mom and dad breathing down my neck every second. I feel like I can handle certain things on my own now, and I want to show them that I am maturing into a responsible adult. I have done a few things that turned their heads, but I made a major impact this summer by finding my own diabetes supplies. I’ve had Type 2 since I was three years old, and they’ve always provided me with everything. I figured since I’d be out of the house and doing it on my own, I should take care of everything myself. I wanted to make sure I had all of my supplies, so I checked out their information page, and WOW, there was over 100 articles on diabetes. Needless to say I filled out the form and ordered my products, and you should’ve seen the look on my parents face when they asked me what I was going to do about my diabetes. I went up to my room and brought down the box of supplies, and they were shocked I took the initiative to do this on my own. That definitely proved to them I can handle certain things in my life, but now that I’ve covered my diabetes I need to find a website about calculus!

For the majority of my life, I was never concerned about losing my hair. When I graduated high school, the thought that I could start losing my hair barely crossed my mind, but then my brother started complaining about his hairline. Both my father and grandfathers are bald, but I was still a kid and didn’t think it could happen to me. My brother was only 24 at the time, and when his hairline kept receding he just grumbled about it and never took any action.
